Welcome to The Good Habit, Worcester, South Africa. The Meaning of the word habit has two meanings both impacting on what is done at The Good Habit namely 1. an action done on a regular basis and 2. an item of clothing worn uniformally for a specific activity.
Worcester is the largest wine producing region in SA accounting for 20% of volume, and has over the past few years suddenly been recognised as a region with award winning wines that tend to be at very drinkable prices. The hot dry summers with gentle winds, and cold wet winters ensure vines are healthy with minimal spraying required. The Breede River, the only river in the Western Cape without a dam on it, is an artery providing year round irrigation in what is an arid Karoo climate. The dominant soils are fertile Dundees, calcareous Etosha, Gamoep, red-brown Oakleaf and stony Glenrosa. The average annual rainfall is 250mm. There are 9 cellars in the Worcester region, some small private cellars and other large co-operatives.
The Good Habit, Worcester, South Africa, produces the following wines: Sauvignon Blanc - Chenin Blanc - Rose - Shiraz and Ruby Carbernet
