The Good Life Center in Brooksville, Maine is a wonderful attraction that preserves the historic Forest Farm homestead and perpetuates the legacy of Helen and Scott Nearing, two of America’s most inspirational practitioners of simple, frugal and purposeful living. Visitors are welcome to tour the Forest Farm June through October, and can view the organic gardens and last stone built home, purchase some books from the bookstore or attend a seasonal program. The Good Life Center hosts an excellent program of events and presentations throughout summer, and the Nearing residents who live at Forest Farm manage the gardens, live off the land, and entertain the many hundreds of visitors who come by every year, come visit and view a rare opportunity of simple living and organic gardening, or volunteer and get involved, you support whether in dollars or time is always needed.
