Gooseberry Falls State Park, Two Harbors, Minnesota, is the gateway to the North Shore and known for its spectacular waterFalls, river gorge, Lake Superior shoreline, Civilian Conservation Corps log and stone structures, and north woods Wildlife.

At Gooseberry Falls State Park, listen to the thunderous roar of the Upper, Middle and Lower Falls of the Gooseberry River as it plummets through a rocky gorge. Watch for waves, ships, or the moon rise on Lake Superior from an ancient lava flow known as the Picnic Flow. Hike or ski to see the Fifth Falls through a Forest of evergreens, aspen, and birch.

Enjoy Two Harbors region camping in modern camp-sites, picnicking, and relaxing along the Lake Superior shoreline or the Gooseberry River.

To get the most out of your visit to this Minnesota State Park by stopping by the Joseph N. Alexander Visitor Center where you can find Park information, interpretive displays, a Park video, Nature Store, and more. Or visit the Gateway Plaza for outdoor interpretive signs on area resources and history.

Self-guided tour: Ideal for group outings, but also fun for families and any visitor to the Park.

Drive-in Sites - 69 Sites - No electric sites available in this Park. Trees and shrubs in camp ground.

Pull-Through Sites - 3 Sites

RV Length Limit - 40 Feet - Distance is measured from front of tow vehicle to rear of vehicle being towed.

Handicapped Accessible Sites - 2 Sites - Located near handicapped accessible bathrooms.

Group Camp - 3 Sites - Each accommodates up to 50 people
Sites are tent only with shared Parking area. Drinking water available near Parking area. Vault toilets available.

The Birch Ridge Camp - contains two level camping areas.
Pebble Creek Camp - closest to Lake Superior.
Nestor Grade Camp - handicapped accessible. Large, open, grassy area.

Handicapped Accessible - 1 mile - begins at the Visitor Center and extends to the main Falls area.

Hiking - 18 Miles - Trails will take visitor along the Gooseberry River and through evergreen and birch Forests. Scenic views of waterFalls along trails.

Paved Bike - Gitchi Gami State Trail, 2.5 miles - Starting at the picnic flow Parking lot, there is a paved connection in the Park to the Gitchi Gami.

Mountain Bike - 8 Miles - Located on the northeast side of the Park.

Picnic Area - Several Areas Near Lakeshore and River - Locations include mouth of Gooseberry River, Lake Superior shore, and Agate Beach area. CCC log and stone picnic tables in these areas have been restored. Paved Gitchi Gami bike trail now extends from the Visitor Center to the shoreline picnic area.

Picnic Shelter - Two Enclosed Shelters - A rental fee of $45 plus tax is due when you make your reservation. Each shelter may be reserved by calling the Park. The Lakeview Shelter (near Lake Superior shore) has picnic tables and restroom facilities. This shelter is suitable for picnics or receptions. The Lady Slipper Lodge (in wooded area) has benches and is suitable for programs or ceremonies.

Trail Center - The Trail Center is located in the Visitor Center and includes a fireplace, bathrooms and vending machines.

Theater Room Rental - Theater Rental (located in Visitor Center): The theater is available to rent during regular business hours in winter months only. The room has chairs and tables for meetings. A rental fee due when you make your reservation.
