"Granaway, an elegant manor house built in 1734, looks out on "Granaway Deep" and the sparsely inhabited islands scattered throughout the Great Sound. "Granaway Deep" was a prime anchorage for the privateers in the 18th and 19th centuries and Granaway, as well as several other stately waterfront homes, was used as a storeroom for the "booty."
Share a taste of the past with us at Granaway where along with old cedar beams there are now modern conveniences such as private bathrooms and air conditioning or heat in all rooms. The main house has five guest rooms where a continental breakfast of freshly baked muffins and fresh fruit is served daily with antique silver and Herend china on Bermuda cedar trays. If you want your own Bermuda Romantic Getaway,' 'Granaway Cottage", formerly the slaves quarters, has also been updated with bathroom and full kitchen and boasts beautiful hand-painted Italian floor tiles, a fireplace for cozy evenings in the winter, and air-conditioning for the summer. There is a private patio overlooking the "Deep" and the city of Hamilton, a mile to the East across Hamilton Harbour.
