"Sitting on the patio on the southern side overlooking Robberg is a special treat with the seagulls soaring and flying past as they catch the thermals next to the steep cliff."
With these words a guest accurately described the sense of the place. The name Gulls View was given to this home with its spectacular vantage point over Plettenberg Bay. From here one truly shares the view of the ever present seagulls - high over the bay with its golden beaches stretching towards Robberg Peninsula in the distance.
Situated in a quiet, peaceful area within easy walking distance to the center of Plettenberg Bay, Gulls View can comfortably accommodate 12 people, but is also cosy for two. The extension was sensitively added to the back of the original cottage (which is the second oldest Victorian cottage in Plettenberg Bay ), which results in the house having two distinct sleeping areas and by closing the interleading door between the old cottage and the extension, privacy and a cosy environment for just two people are created.
With this gentle balance between old and new in mind, the interior of Gulls View was elegantly furnished with original old Cape Country style pieces, including a 12-seater yellowwood dining table. Wrought iron, cane and comfortable modern couches were added to achieve an understated elegance and a perfect blend of old and new. Wooden floors throughout the house give a golden colour and lovely scent of wood.
With the above, the three separate patios catering for different weather conditions and the natural fynbos garden with lovely trees and expansive lawn, you may find it difficult to leave!
