A former home of the Houghton family, founders of Corning Incorporated, this stately house was built in the mid-19th century by the Tolbert family and reflects their wealth and exquisite taste.
Halcyon Place Bed & Breakfast is just a brief 12 minute drive west of Corning, New York. Enjoy a day at the Corning Museum of Glass and historic Market Street, and then spend your evening in the country. Hammondsport and the Keuka Lake Wine Trail are but fifteen minutes away. The Seneca Lake Wine trail and Watkins Glen are also an easy jaunt. Sailing, cross-country skiing, antiquing, wine-tasting, outdoor concerts, and relaxing are just across our doorstep in the Finger Lakes region of New York.
Surrounded by open fields and beautiful vistas, our circa 1840 Greek Revival is distinguished by graceful columns, six-over-six windows, stunning woodwork, and pristine wide pine floors. You can enjoy breakfast by the fire in autumn and winter, or enjoy your repast while gazing at the herb garden in spring and summer.
Our two-acre property includes a stone smokehouse and a maple syrup house and Halcyon Place Bed & Breakfast is reached by driving along Maple Lane under a canopy of mature maple trees. The former harness shop has been converted into an herb and antique shop. You will find wonderful early furniture, our own dried herb and flower wreaths, herbal products, unique gifts, and a tasteful selection of goods by American craftsmen.

During your stay, relax with a good book in front of the parlor fire or enjoy a quiet summer afternoon on our wicker filled porch.
