Welcome to the Hasselblad Center, Gothenburg, Sweden. Hasselblad Center,Gothenburg is one of the most eminent photographic forums/ Gallery in Sweden emphasising contemporary photography. Our Gallery displays both historical photography, as well as today's established and tomorrow's trendsetting photographers and photo based artists.  Each year we have the honour of presenting an extensive exhibition by the work of the Hasselblad Award Winner. The Hasselblad Award, the most important prize in photography, is awarded to "a photographer recognized for major achievements".

The list of previous award winners, comprises many of the most influential photographers, among others Ansel Adams, Bernd och Hilla Becher, Henri Cartier-Bresson, William Eggleston, Robert Frank, Josef Koudelka, Lennart Nilsson, Irving Penn, Cindy Sherman, Malick Sidibé, Christer Strömholm and Jeff Wall.  One of the highlights of the year is the exhibition New Nordic Photography, where we have the opportunity to show what is in the limelight of the Nordic photographic arena. The exhibition shows the multitude of the media by presenting a few items of what is being shown and produced on centres for higher education.

Hasselblad Center,is open for everyone with an interest in photography and photographic art. The library with books, catalogues and periodicals in photography invites you to learn more. Hasselblad Center also publishes books related to the exhibitions.   It also has an extensive collection of photographic productions with emphasis on earlier Hasselblad Award Winners and on Nordic photography.
