The Hayling Island Bookshop, United Kingdom, is one of the last remaining independent Bookshops in the area and is fast gaining a reputation for the quality of personal service and the innovative Author signing events that they run. In 2007 alone the Bookshop ran eight events with Authors including Darren Shan, the world’s most popular horror writer for teens and Radio celebrity Gervase Phinn.

Marie and her husband Colin regularly meet with other independent booksellers to share experiences on how to keep small Bookshops alive and well in the UK. They are also active in the local community using their event management experience to sponsor and organise the Hayling Island Scarecrow Festivals in 2007 and 2008.  The Hayling Island Bookshop, United Kingdom, also stock a range of traditional toys and educational games.  The Hayling Island Bookshop have farms, garages, wooden castles and pirate ships and the figures which go with them and also have a large range of hand and finger puppets, an extensive selection of jigsaws for adults and children as well as dominoes, playing cards, lotto beetle drive and many other old favourites.
