Welcome to the Heritage Village, Owen Sound, Canada. The Heritage Village, Owen Sound has been busy since spring when hundreds of area school children took tours through the Log Cabin, the Log House, and the Blacksmith Shop. Teachers, sign your class up for our Pioneer Life program offered this fall or next spring. Pioneer week of KidsCamp in the summer is always the first to sell out. Moreston has now closed, but it will open again to the general public in the summer of 2009 with tours three times daily. View images of our 2008 Grand Opening. The Rice family has graciously sponsored construction of a new, bigger and better, Blacksmith Shop. The fabrication of the new building is under way. The former Blacksmith Shop will be incorporated into a Stable for the Log Cabin.
Students from the Technology Department at Saugeen District Secondary School have volunteered to build the Schoolhouse. This project is largely supported by the Grey Unit of the Retired Teachers of Ontario, and the Grey Retired Women's Teacher's Association. Construction is currently underway!
