Welcome to Hickinbotham of Dromana, Australia. The Hickinbotham Family have been involved in the art of Wine making since 1936. They have been at the forefront of Australian Wine production for three generations. This dates back to the early 1920’s when grandfather ’Hick’ initiated Australia’s first scientific Wine making course at Roseworthy College. The use of the pH meter in Australian Winemaking has been attributed to his foresight and expertise, and it’s implementation has helped put Australia’s Wines on the international level they have achieved.
Hickinbotham,of Dromana aims to have minimal impact on the environment through our Wine manufacturing and we re-use and recycle over 90 per cent of waste from our Winemaking, hospitality and entertainment activities. We grow our grapes using organic principles which involves using natural soil-enrichment (composted Winery waste) and pest-control methods and our Wine is preservative free. Hickinbotham of Dromana is a registered Land for Wildlife property and a habitat for many species of native birds and animals.
