Highway 12 Winery, Sonoma, California, United States
Our Winery and Tasting Room, located on the south east corner of the Plaza in down town Sonoma. Open from 10:00am to 5:30pm daily. Founded in 2003, Highway 12 Winery was inspired by the vision and pioneering spirit of so many before us. Our Highway 12 Wines are rooted in their legacy and we offer them proudly in recognition of the heritage and responsibilities we?ve assumed.
Our Wines feature vineyards of the Highway 12 corridor through the Sonoma Valley and Carneros District. These appellations comprise our ?neighbourhood? and carry a special meaning for us. This is our home. Our grower-partners are all friends who share our pride in this region and still consider a handshake more binding than a contract.
Winemaker, Michael Sebastiani has spent his life in these vineyards and his adult life making Wine. His is a labour of love and tradition and the medals and critical recognition our Wines receive attest to his skills and dedication.
At our Winery and barrel cellar on Eighth Street East, future releases of these Wines are ageing and evolving in more than a thousand oak barrels, all carefully monitored as they progress. Visits to our cellar are by appointment and tastings at the cellar are usually in groups of eight or more.
We?re especially proud of our tasting room on the plaza here in downtown Sonoma. It was only one block to our north in 1825 that padres of the Sonoma Mission planted the first vineyard in what would become California?s Highway 12 Wine Corridor. With the arrival of Highway 12 Wines on the Plaza, the significance of that historic planting has come full circle.
Visitors to our tasting room enjoy complimentary tastings and a wealth of local knowledge and tips on must-sees in the area. Sonoma tasting rooms have long been known for their casual congeniality, a tradition we try always to uphold. You won?t find a friendlier spot in town.
Also home base for our Highway 12 Cellar Club, members visiting Sonoma will find a friendly staff ready to help make their stay a an especially rewarding one.
