After the early July 2005 fire that destroyed the "Hole", the kindness and generosity of folks has been astounding. Friends' helping hands have made it possible for Bob to completely rebuild -- and one of our favorite eating, drinking, and socializing places is already back in business serving good food and cold drinks!
Jonesville, located a short distance west of Oak Ridge, is perhaps Roatan's nicest traditional community. By that, I mean it is almost completely populated by islanders and its only concession to tourism is one gift shop. It is a quiet, clean town. Most residents are in the island's fishing industry. The main attraction in Jonesville for visitors is The Hole in the Wall restaurand and bar.
Open for lunch and dinner, my favorite Hole in the Wall tradition is the Sunday all-you-can-eat dinner. The meal consists of lobster and/or shrimp, BBQ filet mignon, home made cole slaw, mashed potatoes, Harry's world famous beans, home baked bread, and dessert, all for about $15 U.S. (And the beer is ice cold and cheap!)
