Hotel Palumbo has been run and owned by the same family since 1875 and stands in one of Ravelloâ??s most enchanting spots, 350 metres above sea level. It offers breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast as far as the Gulf of Salerno and the archeological inland area of Paestum.
Originally built in the 12th Century, additional wings were added in the 17th Century. Features include a magnificent hallway in a typical Arabic-Norman style, multi-coloured ceramic floors, Greek and Roman marble columns from Paestum and the Amalfi Coast plus a stone gallery, which overhangs the courtyard like a medieval balcony. The old courtyard stairway leads to the upper rooms, the dining room, the solarium and to some of the bedrooms. Large windows open onto the Gulf of Salerno, showing the quaint villages that dot the coastline from Amalfi to the distant coast of Cilento. Hotel Palumbo features 21 guest rooms, each decorated with antique furniture dating back to the 16th, 17th and 18th Centuries.
