Welcome to The Howbeck in Windermere, Lake District, England, United Kingdom. The Howbeck is truly a once discovered, never forgotten place to stay. A delightful retreat where the warmth and friendliness of The Howbeck team is always apparent.
Here the guest really does come first and there is no time you won't be made to feel welcome. The Howbeck is one of Windermere's top luxury AA 5* Guest Houses with restaurant in the heart of the Lake District.
The Howbeck's ten elegant and individually co-ordinated bedrooms are all named after Cumbrian becks. Beck is a Viking word meaning stream and is used only in Cumbria, south Durham and Yorkshire.
Superior and Luxury rooms are all well appointed and spacious with fully co-ordinated soft furnishings and en-suite bathrooms (some with luxury spa type corner baths, some with bath with shower over and some with walk in shower). Crisp white linen and snug quilts adorn all beds.
All rooms have a DVD player, so bring along your favourite DVDs / CDs. The luxury suite and all other luxury rooms (Greenburn, Windergill, Meregill, Glenridding, Mickleden and Caplecrag) have luxury spa type corner baths and cosy towelling bathrobes for use during your stay. A decanter of sherry and mineral water is also supplied in all luxury rooms.
The three ground floor rooms (Lingmell, Mickleden and Lowthwaite) provide easier access for the less able.
The Howbeck Guest House in the Lake District is always receiving loving attention to maintain its perfect condition and ongoing restyling of the bedrooms. So don't be surprised if on a return visit your room looks very different to when you were last there! They just keep getting better!
The Howbeck is renowned for its good food, lovingly prepared to order from fresh and wherever possible local ingredients.
Gleaming white china is used for both breakfast and dinner and the food presentation is to a very high standard.
