The 1865 Robert Jordan House was built by Robert Jordan in 1863. He was a civil war veteran who made his living as a general merchant in Ipswich after the war. The house is a wonderful example of a Victorian home with fine Italianate detail. For a number of years after Robert Jordan, the house belonged to a local doctor who used it as a home and office for treating many of the residents of Ipswich. We sit on nearly an acre of terraced perennial gardens with walkways through the property designed to create a tranquil atmosphere. Over the last four years, we have carefully restored this four family home to a gracious four bedroom bed & breakfast while leaving the four apartments intact.
