Whether Tanning indoors or outdoors, the process involves ultraviolet rays which stimulate the skin cells that produce melanin, which is the pigment that makes your skin tan. When you are Tanning, you are exposed to two types of UV light. UVA and UVB. All Tanning units use different combinations of these two Tanning rays.  Tanning indoors in a controlled environment is the smartest way to avoid sunburn as you are following an exposure schedule that is designed for your skin type.

USE SPF's WHEN ENJOYING THE OUTDOOR SUN: Island Sun Tanning carries a full line of SPF's for your use in the hot outdoor sun. Be sure to apply liberally and often.

USE EYE PROTECTION: We supply eye protection for your use and offer several different selections for sale. Simply closing your eyes, or covering with a towel is not adequate protection against possible long term eye injury.
