Welcome to Japhy's in Arcata, United States, for original soups and healthy Japanese-style noodles made with local and/or organic ingredients whenever possible.

Japhy's opened in Arcata in 1998 with the goal of serving simple, wholesome, homemade food at an affordable price. We make everything ourselves, including the dressings. Our employees bake cookies and corn bread daily.

At Japhy's we use organic ingredients as much as possible in all of our dishes, and keep the prices as low as we can. Whenever possible we use ingredients from local farmers and producers.

Japhy's has an open kitchen so that you can see the food being prepared and made by ourselves and our staff. Please stop by and try our soups.

Japhy's doesn't stop at making delicious, healthy food, we even do our best to be gentle to the Earth.

Sometimes you want to grab some soup to go, but that doesn't mean you need to toss a container in the garbage when you're done, go ahead and bring your own bowl! (Or whatever reusable container you prefer to carry your soup in.) We'll fill it up, the soup will fill you up, and nothing will fill up a landfill.

f you're grabbing some soup to go and it isn't convenient to bring your own container, we'll give you an ecotainer. It may look like any other tossable paper cup, but the lining is made from corn instead of oil, so it's completely biodegradable (go ahead and compost it!) and doesn't waste resources. Even the energy used to make the paper comes mostly from renewable resources.

Running a Restaurant generates a lot of waste, so we do our best to make sure it doesn't end up in a landfill. We recycle everything we can, and we compost all those bits and pieces of vegetables that don't end up on your plate.
