Welcome to Jones-Harrison Residence, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Located on the shores of Cedar Lake in Minneapolis and established in 1888, Jones-Harrison Residence is believed to be the longest continuously operating home to seniors in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
We are a non-profit organization offering 24-hour skilled nursing care, Assisted Living apartments and comprehensive rehabilitation services. We?re known for our innovative programs for memory-loss and arthritis care (which includes warm water therapy and a full-service fitness center).
Our longevity and stability are due in large part to acts of giving by members of our community. More than 150 volunteers assist on-site annually. And every resident receives the benefits of outside giving.
Put it all together, and it?s quickly apparent that the level of care provided at Jones-Harrison Residence is rivaled by few other facilities anywhere.
In 1888, a man with a farm and a woman with a vision came together to make a difference. Judge Edwin S. Jones donated 80 acres on Cedar Lake, just a few miles south of downtown Minneapolis, and Jane T. Harrison gave $30,000. Instantly, a new haven offering care for older adults was created ? Jones-Harrison.
In the early days, residents spent their time tending chickens, milking cows and harvesting popcorn. Times have certainly changed, but our tradition of care remains unwavering. Our mission and statement of purpose arise from this tradition.
