Welcome to the Justice Institute, New Westminster, Canada. Welcome to the Justice Institute of BC’s new home on the web.  As an organization committed to serving the educational needs of our clients and learners, the new site provides both new functionality and a more intuitive, user-driven interface, as defined through site design surveys and interviews.

Our progress in cyberspace has been matched by developments in other areas of the Institute. We are currently in the process of renewing our Strategic Plan, and have recently completed a new Education Plan. Our focus on Credentialing, will provide justice & public safety professionals opportunity to earn credits towards Justice Institute BC degrees – the first of which, a Bachelor of Fire & Safety Studies, was launched early in 2006.

We are also more actively engaged in applied research to inform public policy and decision-making in justice and public safety fields. Recent studies conducted and published by Justice Institute, New Westminster, BC faculty and staff have informed and influenced public perception and perspectives on topics as varied as "Unfounded Sexual Assaults" for the federal Department of Justice and “The Police Use of Deadly Force: International Comparisons”.

All of these initiatives contribute to ensure that we fulfill our mandate of providing the applied learning that our students and Clients require to ensure they are prepared to make an immediate and effective contribution to keeping their workplaces and communities safe. And to ensure we are continually improving as an organization, we hold ISO:9001 Certification which independently ensures we're offering top-tier services.
