Kaipara Blooms are commercial growers of cut flowers in Helensville, Northland, New Zealand and offer farm accommodation to guests in self contained guest wings.
Kaipara Blooms are exporting Cymbidium orchids and Sandersonia, grown in greenhouses on our five-hectare property. The greenhouses are separate from the house and out of view, so the residence is private and looks out over the Kaukapakapa river valley.
Our house is an airy and spacious wooden bungalow with pine ceilings and Italian flagstone tiles. The decoration is classical with antiques and Persian rugs. The numerous windows and ranch sliders give the feeling of outdoors/indoors living. We entertain outside whenever possible and have a well used barbecue ? we enjoy good food and provide a high standard of cuisine and promote the excellent local wines. The self-contained guest wing runs off the main living area. The two double bedrooms both open on to the swimming pool.
Guests share the guest bathroom area which comprises a bathroom with bath, separate toilet and separate shower. There is a separate lounge area, with TV and stereo system, which can be used by guests if preferred to the family lounge.
Weather and time permitting, we offer to take you cruising in our nine-metre yacht, Easy Feeling. This could be either for a day sail or overnight. We sail in the Hauraki Gulf, one of the world's best sheltered water sailing areas. Our boat is moored conveniently for this and is built to charter standards.
Guests are welcome to look around our greenhouses. There are many activities available in Helensville's Northland area: including tramping, skydiving, hot pools, wineries, gannet colony, 4WD excursions, golf, horse trekking, beaches and fishing trips on the Kaipara Harbour. Alternatively guests can just relax by our 12-metre pool, play croquet or petanque. There are tennis courts nearby.
Our property is about 35 minutes drive from central Auckland, and about twenty minutes from Orewa, Whangaparaoa and Albany where there are good shopping areas and restaurants.
We feel that we live in a wonderful environment that we would like to share with other people. We enjoy meeting new and interesting people and believe that a wide range of visitors' interests can be catered for.
