Kaipara House, a 111-year-old villa is set in nearly an acre of seasonal gardens in Helensville, Northland, New Zealand. It has been lovingly restored and adorned with yesteryear's furniture and today's lovely rich colours, which enhance the enchanting architecture of older homes like this.
Kaipara House offers you the Victorian suite - a spacious double - Kaipara House interioror a twin Edwardian room. There is morning sun and comfort through our home, with an open fire in winter. There are also rooms for single guests. Full continental or full cooked breakfasts are available, for two in front of the old coal range in our breakfast room, or for groups in the lounge.
We also have two self-contained Studio Summerhouse units, facing north and east with your own open flame gas fireplace. With Queen beds, en suite and kitchenette you, can have either a rural view or look over our picturesque garden with its gazebo and large ozone chlorine-free spa. Quality linen and furnishings. A scenic 40 minute drive north of down town Auckland you will find historic Helensville, an old river and timber town at the southern reaches of the Kaipara Harbour with some fine old buildings in Northland.
With its relaxed lifestyle, Helensville boasts a wealth of recreational amenities including Harbour cruising, Fishing, GOLF, Horse riding, restaurants, nearby Vineyards, Beaches, plus a range of adventure tourism activities.
Just north of Helensville you will find one of New Zealand?s natural geothermal wonders - Parakai Springs. Aquatic Park, with its natural thermal pools, offers a range of amenities to make this a full-day's entertainment destination.
To enjoy B&B in the main house our Victorian room has a queen bed, en suite and television. The Edwardian room is a twin, with share bathroom. Another room with en suite available.
We are in our late 40's, young at heart. We also have a lifestyle block just six minutes from our home which overlooks the Kaipara Harbour - ideal for people who would like to do a farm walk and see Arab horses cattle, calves and exotic arapawa sheep.
Being on the Northland tourist route we can advise you on local activities and attractions, like our forest which because it's on sand provides lovely Walks even in the winter.
