Welcome to KLH Driving School, Redmond, United States. KLH Driving School teaches teenagers and adults to drive responsibly. Karen Howard is the owner and instructor of the school. The course provides driver education for teenagers and adults, and consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction with 6 hours behind the wheel. Both classroom and in-car instruction are taught by Karen Howard. Classes are held at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse located at 80th Street, Suite 105, in Redmond. Each session lasts 5 weeks. The KLH Driving School class schedule is listed below.
Karen is a certified Department of Licensing instructor, a Washington State certified teacher with a Master of Teaching degree, and an endorsement in traffic safety. Karen has taught traffic safety for the last twelve years for a local school district. The classroom lessons consist of lecture from the Drive Right Book, videos, classroom discussion, traffic safety games, model car simulation lab, and tests on each chapter covered in class.
In-car instruction is taught simultaneously with the lessons taught in the classroom. During the first week of class the students schedule their drive day and time. Driving begins in the second week of classroom instruction. We teach basic maneuvers such as basic control of the vehicle, backing around corners and parking, residential and light city driving, roadway variations, freeway/critical tasks, practice review, complex traffic, and final assessment. My goal is to teach both teenagers and older students to respect and obey the rules of the road at all times. By using the IPDE process, students will become defensive drivers for a lifetime.
