Welcome on the Kvitserk and enjoy a voyage on a viking ship in Haholmen.
Ragnar Thorseth has built a new Viking ship the Kvitserk to replace the "Saga Siglar" which sailed round the world in 1983-86, and which has found its final resting haven in the boat hall on shore after it sank in the Mediterranean Sea in 1992.
This is an exact replica of the "Saga Siglar", which is there again a copy of a trading vessel built in western Norway around the year 1000. The new Viking ship, the Kvitserk was launched in the spring of 1994, and we offer our guests a voyage in what was the workhorse of the Viking Age and their foremost means of transport and communication. Our guests can help with the sails, rigging and take a turn at the steering oar. Most will be amazed at how easy it is to sail, and its speed and technique. Duration: 3-5 hours.
