The Leathes Head is a fine country house Hotel of the Edwardian period built of local slate and situated in two and a half acres of grounds.
Set in the heart of Borrowdale, Keswick, 'the most beautiful valley in England'. The Leathes Head is set back from the road on an elevated site with magnificent views.
Recently refurbished, The Leathes Head Hotel offers the highest standards of comfort and convenience whilst retaining the charm and elegance of a bygone age.
As you would expect, all our rooms have the highest levels of facilities in an environment you can really call your own. All have delightful open outlooks over the surrounding fells, most with views of the lake. Ground floor rooms and rooms suitable for families are also available. All our bedrooms are centrally heated and have benefit of en-suite shower or bathrooms.
For your comfort each room contains radio, direct dial telephone, teacoffee making facilities, hair dryer, television and heated towel rails.
The Leathes Head has standard rooms, larger superior rooms and two superior double aspect rooms with magnificent views across to Catbells and Maiden Moor. Ground floor rooms are available for the less sprightly and we have some equipment for the disabled including wheelchair access from the car park into the Hotel. All the ground floor of the Hotel is accessible by wheelchair.
Over the last few years our award winning chef, David Jackson, has built a well deserved reputation for the high standard of his dishes, all of which are a delight to the eye as well as the palate. David takes great pride in changing his menu daily and sourcing his ingredients locally wherever possible. He will also accommodate any special dietary requirements if informed before your arrival.
We regret that The Leathes Head cannot accommodate babies or children under 9 years of age.
