Run by the husband and wife team of Miki and Justin Ashton, this successful new venture has now moved from the basement of the Penzance arts club to Trevelyan House on Penzance’s historic Chapel Street. The Lime Tree will be sited on the ground floor with the first floor being the home of the Hypatia trust, an independent study and research centre.
The Lime Tree consists of two dining rooms and a relaxing lounge area for drinks before or after your meal. The division of space gives atmosphere and privacy, making it ideal for business or family occasions.
This beautiful double fronted Georgian building was built as a private residence and housed the towns Doctor Quick in the 1840s. It later became the site of the Ellis Brothers wine importation business and has also housed part of the Inde.Coope Brewery Company and in 1885 became the home of the Cornish Telegraph Newspaper. In its newest incarnation The Lime Tree is Penzance’s most exciting new restaurant.
Chef Justin Ashton has already established a reputation for producing delicious food, made with high quality local ingredients, served with imagination and flair. Justin’s menus draw on eclectic influences from all over the world using local produce. The restaurant has quickly drawn celebration, wedding and business custom as well as a loyal band of regular private diners.
