Welcome to Little Riverside in Totnes, Devon, United Kingdom. Little Riverside is run by Debbie Carnegie and John Hagger and they have lived in Totnes for twenty years, and finally have settled in the best location!
They share a passion for where they live and what it offers. For the last year they have been working hard converting the timber framed house to make it possible for more people to come and enjoy this unique location with them.
There is an L-shaped kitchen with a 2 ring electric hob, sink, fridge-freezer, combination microwave/cooker and a good-sized workspace. There?s plenty of cupboard space, kitchen utensils and cooking facilities for 2-4 people. All the usual mod-cons are provided but if we have missed anything, just ask.
The apartment has a double bedroom with continental size double bed and space for hanging and storing your clothes. We provide fresh linen and towels, unless you prefer to bring your own.
Next to the bedroom is a tiled en-suite shower room with sink and WC.
There is a separate utility area with a washing machine and place to dry your clothes, and a tumble dryer for emergency use!
Little Riverside has been decorated with non-toxic paints throughout, the wooden flooring is sourced from sustainable forests and the hot water is solar heated.
Please note that Little Riverside is non-smoking.
From early June until the middle of October - if you get up early enough - you may spot ?John the otter? swimming in the river?
In the late summer evenings we like to quietly escape in our canoe, go up stream, make a fire, cook food, drink a bottle of wine and gaze at the stars, listen to the owls and watch the bats. Paddling home in the dark or the light of the full moon.
Family, friends and food play a large part in their lives and they look forward to maturing in this special place and observing the changes taking place, both in the people around them and in nature.
John is a level-three kayaking instructor and paddles the upper Dart all through the autumn and winter months. He can offer one-to-one sessions and instruction and is a man of many talents, as you?ll find out when you talk to him!
Debbie loves her garden of roses, swimming in the river and in the sea, sailing, cooking and long walks or canoeing with John around the Dartington estate.
They are both passionate about the care of the earth. Therefore, in creating Little Riverside they have used non-toxic paints and woods stains. And because Little Riverside, Totnes, Devon, United Kingdom is within easy walking distance of the train station, they welcome visitors who come by train and bike, leaving the car behind.
