Welcome to The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, Wales, United Kingdom. The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team is made up entirely of volunteers who live close to Snowdon.
Mountain guides and instructors, teachers, plumbers, doctors, park wardens, builders, nuclear engineers and business consultants - all and more can be found in the team. All are skilled and experienced mountaineers.
The team trains throughout the year and send team members on courses in casualty care, search management and rescue techniques. We also train with other agencies, ie. The Police, Search and Rescue Helicopters and the Ambulance service.
Always be prepared for changes in the weather. In fine summer weather you may well set out lightly clothed but you should carry warm and waterproof clothing as the tops may well be cold, wet and windy by the time you get there.
In the Winter months a system of layers works best. A thermal or base layer is worn next to the skin. Over this, wear fleece garments with a waterproof layer on top.
The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, Wales, United Kingdom are proud that they provide a first class rescue service for the casualty on the hill.
