Welcome to The Lynhurst in Lynton, United Kingdom. The Lynhurst is an elegant late Victorian Self Catering country house, arranged on 4 floors, with great character and panoramic views over the sea and Exmoor. Built as a summer retreat in 1890 for a wealthy London bankers family, the house is totally hidden in almost 3 acres of gardens and natural woodland yet just a whisper away from Lynton and Lynmouth.
It is a perfect retreat for those seeking peace, solitude, and seclusion, but it is only a short stroll to all of the area's attractions, such as Valley of the Rocks, the beautiful waterfalls of Watersmeet and the famous 'Cliff Railway' which takes you to the picturesque harbour of Lynmouth.
Nestling some 400 feet above where Exmoor meets the sea, overlooking Exmoor National Park, The Lynhurst exudes wide open space and tranquillity. Enjoy the large garden with a barbecue area and relax on the terrace or in the large conservatory, all taking in the panoramic sea views.
Plenty of parking can be found in the large public car park just 300 metres from The Lynhurst, via a graduated sloping path. Weekly passes can be obtained from the Tourist Board. There is access for cars to The Lynhurst so visitors can be dropped off at the property. There is also wireless internet access available. Dogs are welcome. There are pubs, restaurants and shops a few minutes walk away and also a beach in Lynmouth.
