MacCallum House Inn & Restaurant

MacCallum House Inn & Restaurant in Mendocino, Mendocino County, United States | Restaurant

In the Restaurant dinners are served in a library study graced by two river stone fireplaces, bookcases, oil lamps and flowers on the tables or, informally, in the café. Chef Alan Kantor is proud of the fact that "everything we serve you is prepared in our own kitchen, including breads, hand rolled pastas, and smoked meat, fish or poultry. We use only the freshest seasonal ingredients and feature local and regional organic and wild crafted products whenever possible."

To begin the MacCallum House dining experience you might choose an aperitif from the Grey Whale Bar to accompany a first course of select Pacific Rim oysters, Liberty Farm duck leg confit or roasted gnocchi and chanterelle salad. Second courses may include wild king salmon, bouillabaisse, roasted Rosie organic chicken, grilled Niman Ranch chops and steaks, the vegetarian dinner and the eveningâ??s exciting specials.

We offer a fine wine selection with a focus on outstanding local vintages. House made ice creams, cheesecake soufflés, bread puddings and crème brulées make for a sweet ending or perhaps enjoy a late night dessert with espresso, cappuccino or cafe latte after a village stroll. Chance meetings with other coast explorers like yourself or with Mendocino's colorful and artistic community add to the discovery of your visit to the firelit Grey Whale Bar.
