Welcome to the majestic MULL OF KINTYRE! Machrihanish Caravan and Camping Park is a peaceful family run site with level all weather pitches for motor homes, caravans and tents in Machrihanish Bay, Scotland in the United Kingdom.

Machrihanish Caravan and Camping Park overlooks the famous links golf course with views of the glorious Atlantic, Islay and Jura. We boast 3 miles of golden sands well known to surfers, canoeists, birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts. Wild goats, seals and otters abound and we have a wonderful seabird observatory nearby. Golden Eagles nest around and about Kintyre and the whole area is a haven for Peregrines, Buzzards, Sparrowhawks and a rich variety of other birds.

A MUST SEE for visitors to the area - The Mull of Kintyre deserves a song to be written about it!

MACHRIHANISH
Machrihanish Bay is the home of the famous Machrihanish Bay Golf Club and it is certainly one of the most idyllic parts of the Kintyre peninsula, with its spectacular panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean there are few more beautiful sunsets to be seen anywhere in the world

CAMPBELTOWN
A beautiful little town set around a picturesque harbour on the sea loch. There is a lovely walk along the loch side with its palm trees and pitch and putt! Campbeltown boasts numerous shops, galleries and craft outlets, restaurants, take-aways and pubs. The Springbank distillery is well worth a visit. Campbeltown is set on the Gulf Stream, the temperature is generally above the UK average, as witnessed by the many streets and gardens with unprotected palm trees.

DAVAAR ISLAND

The island can be reached by foot along a stony causeway during low tide. The walk is quite tough along the stones and rocks but it is well worth the effort and there are excellent views over to Campbeltown and surrounding area from the Island.

TARBERT
..a small fishing village with a picturesque harbour. Good walks from village to Tarbert Castle and a lovely gallery alongside the harbour.

SADDELL ABBEY
The whole Sadell area is very beautiful. There is the visitors centre, the castle and the bay and all are a MUST to see. The castle is no longer open to the public but it sits alongside saddell Bay which is a wonderful stretch of golden sand, perfect for lazing and picnics. The beach is where Sir Paul McCartney filmed the video for his hit song MULL OF KINTYRE accompanied by the Campbeltown Pipers.

On site there is a small shop, laundry, disabled facilities, free showers.

Our Luxury Caravans 35ftx12ft have one double and one twin bedroom and can sleep six using a make up bed. And our three bedroom have one double and two Twin beds also sleeping six. All have bathroom,shower, toilets,hot water, colour television,fully equipped kitchens, including fridge, full cooker and microwave. All have a decked outside sitting area.

CAMPERS ROOM - providing microwave, kettle, fridge and freezer for those ice-packs as well as local tourist information and a small library for your help and enjoyment. There are sheltered bays for campers.

Virtually Midge Free due to the open aspect of the Campsite and the coastal location.

We are a short walk from the Old Golf Course Bar/Restaurant - a great little pub overlooking the beach which serves good quality bar meals.

There are regular buses into The Wee Toon - bustling and vibrant Campbeltown. Campbeltown is so pretty nestling around a sea loch overlooking

Davaar Island. Its streets bustle with life and it boasts galleries, shops, pubs explore - you will be delighted!
