The Mainstay is a charming Hamptons Bed and Breakfast restored guesthouse in the heart of famous, historic Southampton Village in New York, United States. The Mainstay is situated on a private acre on historic Hill Street within walking and biking distance of the ocean, the bay, and the world-famous Shinnecock Golf Course and National Golf Links, as well as the heart of Southampton Village, New York.
Wide-open doors, fresh linens, boughs of fragrant roses, and sturdy pine tables are all simple pleasures beckoning guests to The Mainstay in the bustling village of Southampton, New York. Built as a small, family-owned country store in 1850, the structure was expanded into a seventeen-room Bed and Breakfast over the years, but it still maintains a serene, country charm thanks to the loving touches of its current owner, Elizabeth Main.
The grounds are landscaped with English flower gardens and a natural arbor to create a country haven. The Mainstay's garden is bordered by a handmade rustic fence and arbor, and a 20x20 in-ground pool is also hidden in the gardens.
The Mainstay's rooms are individually furnished with antique iron beds, country pine and Southampton. A continental breakfst in our large, homey dining room is included and is a feature of treasures. Most of our rooms have windows overlooking the gardens or historical tree-lined Hill Street in Hamptons. Each room uniquely features either a gabled ceiling or skylights, faux-painted walls, claw foot tubs and vintage linens. All are updated with modern additions of TV, fans, or A/C.
At breakfast, guests are greeted by The Mainstay's own garden roses on pine table surrounded by Windsor chairs.
