Susette worked for the national Jewelry chain, Kay DeRoy Jewelers from 1979 to 1990, paving the way for women to achieve entry-level management positions in the Jewelry industry. A graduate of the Diamond Council of America (DCA), she won several National Top Sales Awards for the company and was instrumental in designing the training programs for future managers.
Susette was born to immigrant parents Cres and Tina Tibus. Cres, a WWII veteran and submariner, owned and operated Esquire Barber Shop in Uncasville. Tina was a kindergarten school teacher and home maker.
Raised in Mystic, Susette has always taken an active interest in what is going on in her community. She is past president of Olde Mistick Village Merchants' Association, past president of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and past chair of the National Athena Award, an award dedicated to supporting, developing, and honoring women leaders. Chuck Sneddon started with Holman Jewelers in 1977 as a jeweler and a management trainee. In 1979, Chuck became the manager of the Westhall Company. During his 15 year tenure, the company grew to become Westhall/Sterling. Chuck left Westhall in 1992 after multiple promotions and was the Vice President of Northeast Operations upon his resignation.
Chuck is very active in the Jewelry community as well as his local community of the Mystic/Stonington area. Chuck has been certified as a trainer of DCA Diamontology, and DCA Gemology by the Diamond Council of America.
