Welcome to the Mar I Terra, a quality, authentic Spanish tapas bar and restaurant. Based in London, United Kingdom, the Mar I Terra has good access to the Tate Modern, the Globe Theatre and the Imperial War Museum. So whether you stop for a quick bite, or while away the afternoon, come along and experience the Spanish atmosphere for yourself. Mar I Terra, was established in March 2000 and is based in an old public house. The building was originally called the 'Hop Pole' and was built in the mid 19th century for the Southern Railway Company. Located close to the railway tracks it is easy to see why it proved a popular spot for workers in the past, and yet holds a different allure today.Tapas is Mar I Terra's speciality. A little difficult to find, we believe we are well worth the search, and our vast choice of drinks is more than compensation! Our talented chef is from La Coruna, and has brought the secret of Spanish tapas with him to Mar I Terra, London, United Kingdom. All of our food is home cooked and prepared, and each dish is given careful attention, as it is this consideration of detail that ensures satisfaction. In summer you might want to dine al fresco in our self contained garden, and in winter you can enjoy the atmosphere in our first floor restaurant. Whenever you join us, you will be delighted by the quality of the tapas and the choice of wines, sherries and brandies.
