Maungatautari Lodge is centrally located in the majestic countryside of the central north island to take advantage of the wonders of New Zealand with Rotorua, The Waitomo Caves and Tauranga all an easy one hour drive away. The Lodge overlooks Lake Karapiro, just 1 3/4 hours drive South of Auckland and 10 minutes from Cambridge.

Maungatautari Lodge is owned and operated by Peter & Christine Scoular and remains one of the few owner-hosted Lodges in New Zealand, providing guests with an intimate and authentic experience.

Situated on a 16 hectare working farm and thoroughbred horse breeding operation, the Lodge features extensive parkland. With just 7 suites & villas the focus is on intimacy. Within the gardens are a swimming pool, petanque piste and chip and putt golf area. The Lodge features all of the amenities one would expect from a luxury 5 star hotel.
