At Melaleuca Backpackers there?s a huge, comfortable communal lounge area and kitchen, and the camp sites are ?free-range?, you pick your own and cars are not allowed near tents, which equates to purest bliss. The grounds are also inhabited by koalas, land mullets, sugar gliders and possums.
Melaleuca Backpackers is an architecturally designed, tranquil retreat, set on 6 acres of natural bush land. It has been created using wood and glass to maximise light, space and harmony with nature. Just 5 minutes walk from sparkling One Mile Beach, Port Stephens and 7 minutes drive to Nelson Bay, it is home to a large variety of native wildlife including koalas, possums, frogs, sugar-gliders and kookaburras.
Our tree-house style cabins consist of one room. There are 2 bunk style beds (one double bed in each cabin). There is a fridge/freezer and fan in each cabin and a small deck on the side with a table and chairs. Linen (pillow, pillowcase, 2 x sheets and 2 x blankets) is included.
Our fantastic dorm has four rooms of 6 share (bunk style) with a fridge/freezer in each room plus a wall mounted fan. Linen (pillow, pillowcase, 2 x sheets and 2 x blankets) is included.
