The Mentor Firefighters’ Historical Association is a non-profit organization in Mentor, Ohio which created the Mentor Safety House to reduce childhood injuries, and document the history of the Mentor Fire Department. Located in the historic district of Mentor, the Safety Village provides fire and injury prevention education to over 900 children per year, with children bussed in from local schools to participate in interactive safety lessons developed through the National Fire Protection Association’s Risk Watch curriculum. They offer safety lessons in the family room, kitchen and bedroom safety and the building also houses a fire Museum with displays of antique fire equipment, and the refurbished and update Philip the Firetruck will soon be a Museum on wheels. The Mentor Firefighters Historical Association also offer Camp 911 at the Mentor Safety House and Fire Museum for 3rd graders to educate them on various safety issues. They also host golf outings and other events annually, sig up to support, fund and donate to their excellent work.
