Mercato Market in Calgary, Western Canada, Canada, has been providing fresh Italian fare to the community for well over 20 years. Our original owners, Mamma Cathy and Victor, still play an active role in this family owned business (now owned by their son Dominic). In fact, it's not uncommon to see Mamma Cathy or Victor in Mercato Market, sharing recipes, cooking tips and good-natured chitchat with some of our regular customers.
Mercato Market offers a wide variety of traditional take home specialties, which we prepare fresh, every day. We use only the finest ingredients, which we use in over 14 of our homemade sauces, many of which are made with imported Italian tomatoes. All our meals, like our tender Veal Marsala and our delicious Tortellini, are freshly-packed and ready to go. Not surprisingly, we never add any preservatives of any kind to any of our dishes. Just good old-fashioned love.
Mercato Market in Calgary, Western Canada, is home to the little things you'd expect from an Italian market, and the little things you wouldn't. Here, we offer a variety of imported Italian deli meats, cheeses, fresh cut meats, homemade sausages (from a 30 year-old recipe), organic free-range chickens, 14 varieties of daily-fresh sandwiches and paninis, daily-fresh soups and Italian salads, an olive bar (we stuff our own olives), even homemade desserts, like our tiramisu, which is made fresh every day, by our own in-house pastry chef.
