Continuously enhancing the collections is a top priority of the Museum. Donations of specimens are the most significant mechanism for enhancing the collections of the Museum. If you have specimens we hope you will consider giving them to The Mineral Museum of Michigan. Gifts of specimens are tax-deductible. The Museum accepts donations of specimens at a wide variety of levels. Specimens can become a part of the Museum collection depending on quality and Museum holdings. Surplus specimens are sold to generate income to support the collection.
The Museum in Houghton also accepts specimens and collections in return for partial payments. And to enhance the collections the Museum outright purchases specimens and collections.
