Welcome to Musashino Sushi Dokoro in Austin.   Operating in the heart of Texas, in the United States,  we proudly present Edomae Zushi,  Tokyo style sushi right here in Austin.   Thousands of miles away from our homeland, you may ask, “How close is this to the real thing?”  For you to taste the historical significance and essence of Edomae Zushi,  we air freight our selection of seafood, not only from the United States, but from around the world from places such as Norway, New Zealand, Hawaii, and now we are getting seafood directly from Tsukiji, Japan’s biggest fluton.  At  Musashino Sushi Dokoro we set our standards higher than most Japanese establishments.  By pursuing and respecting the traditional Edomae  Zushi style,  Musashino Sushi Dokoro may seem hardheaded at times in preserving the tradition and authenticity, but we do not cut corners. Such an act is often a euphemism for cost cutting, and mediocre quality is the result. Only the best and freshest ingredients are used when serving you, and with each bit, you are enveloped in Musashino Sushi Dokoro's tradition. Enjoy.

Sushi etiquette is very important especially when one is with a Japanese guest or host. Poor etiquette is considered rude to the Japanese. Here are some tips for eating sushi, eat sushi in one bite or mouthful to enjoy the full flavor of the fish. Cutting or biting sushi in half will lift the fish off the rice, which is called "nare" (no air between rice and fish) and will not make the sushi as flavorful.  To avoid sushi breakage, first tip the piece of sushi sideways and then lightly dip it in the soy sauce. Put sushi in your mouth upside down.  It is best to eat sushi with your hands.  It is best to keep the wasabi and soy sauce separate.  Using your fingers or chopsticks, apply the wasabi straight on the fish. Try not to rub the chopsticks together. If you need to start a fire just ask your server for some matches.  Wasabi is the green horseradish that is spicy. Do not let anyone convince you it is guacamole. Gari is pickled ginger, eaten between different types of fish to clear your palette. To enjoy the full flavor of tuna, do not use any citrus.
