The NAFC Marine Centre in Scalloway on the Shetland Islands of Scotland is an educational and scientific institute providing a range of services to the maritime industries, and they are operate by a charitable trust. Services include training and education, research and development, and consultancy and advisory services, there are many excellent and informative courses to choose from including training for fishermen and seafarers, aquaculture, engineering and more. The NAFC Marine Centre library is open to the public and specialises in marine and nautical subjects, here they also operate a number of vessels for research, surveys and training, and Port Arthur house provides self catering accommodation, whil the Da Haaf Restaurant specialises in freshly caught fish. Other facilities include a ship bridge simulator, classrooms, research laboratories, engineering workshops, a marine hatchery and auditorium, plus many facilities are available for hire.
