The Narrows in Old Forge, Herkimer County, United States | Cottage and Cabins

Welcome to The Narrows, Cottages, Old Forge, United States. Less than a mile from the center of Old Forge, nestled among the trees overlooking First Lake Channel are "The Narrows" Housekeeping Cottages.  Each cottage has a pleasant combination living room with picture window and kitchenette, two bedrooms with double beds/bunk bed and a sofa in the living area. Each cottage sleeps four or five and all have automatic heat, bathroom with shower, refrigerator, gas stove, cable TV, dishes, cooking utensils, blankets and pillows.

There are Cottages are located at the water's edge and others in a wooded like setting, all of which have outside fireplaces and picnic tables. There is also a play area for children. Canoes and paddleboats are available for our guests to use.

The Narrows,is within walking distance of the public beach, tennis courts, boat tours, churches, grocery stores, quaint gift shops, theater, bowling alley, miniature golf and the community art center.

Also close by are two championship 18 hole golf courses, Thendara or Inlet. The McCauley Mountain chairlift and picnic area has a spectacular view of the village of Old Forge and the Fulton Chain of Lakes. We like to handle all reservations on personal basis, so we can answer any questions you may have and ensure your Narrows vacation is off to a good start. Our summer season is crowded with our many regular guests, who have the right of first refusal to their cottage and time slot. If you are interested in a summer stay, please call us in February or early March.  Winter reservations also fill up fast and cabins are often taken for the full winter season, so please call as early as possible to assure we have a cottage available for you.

The Narrows,is pleased to accept personal checks, traveler's checks, or cash for your initial deposit, however final payment, due upon arrival is due in cash, certified check or money order. We do not accept credit cards!  One-half of the rental fee is required to confirm a reservation. The remainder is due upon arrival. All deposits are non-refundable.
