Welcome to Nettlecombe Farm on the Isle of Wight, English Channel, United Kingdom. Nettlecombe Farm offers high quality self-catering accommodation.
Nettlecombe Farm is a working farm with modern self-catering holiday apartments set around the farm yard and is situated in the heart of the rolling South Wight countryside, at the top of a quiet lane around half a mile from the village of Whitwell.
Nettlecombe Farm has been in our family for over 100 years. These days we run a mixed farm - both arable and pasture. Crops are normally wheat, barley and linseed and the meadows are grazed by beef cattle and sheep along with Tufty and Basil the Shetland ponies and the donkeys - Nimbus, Dylan, Molly and Nelly.
In the Rickyard there is a wide variety of poultry and other animals, and children visiting in springtime may be lucky enough to help bottle-feed the orphan lambs or calves. They can also enjoy the large collection of rabbits. When the kids (and big kids!) need to let off steam there are two large grassed play areas.
We have some glorious walks around the farm with breathtaking views of a large part of the island, and excellent coarse fishing available on our three lakes.
The original farmhouse was converted some years ago into three fully self-contained and comfortably furnished self-catering apartments; Oats, Barley and Wheat. Many of our guests have enjoyed staying with us so much they have returned year after year to holiday at Nettlecombe Farm on the Isle of Wight. Of course we are delighted by this, but it gave us a problem as we had to turn many new enquiries away.
We think you will love this part of the Isle of Wight as much as we do. The passing of the seasons and the changing landscape make Nettlecombe Farm worth visiting at any time of year and we are happy to offer special rates for out of season guests.
We look forward to welcoming you to Nettlecombe Farm, Isle of Wight, English Channel.
