The Newfoundland Science Centre, formally known as the Discovery Network, is a non-profit, charitable organization that was created, in 1993, to encourage interest and participation in science through informal education programs, interactive science displays and province-wide outreach programs. Kids have a million questions about the world we live in. At the Newfoundland Science Centre, we want to make sure they keep asking them, and show them that science and technology can give them a lot of answers. How do we do this? With a time-proven method: we feed and respond to their curiosity with programs and exhibits that are interactive, hands-on and fun. We encourage people-especially young people-to embrace and understand that science and technology makes a difference in their lives, and ours. It affects how easily they progress in our changing world, and it will broaden their options as they grow and choose careers. Honoring natural curiosity and helping people of all ages understand the science that makes the world go 'round-it's an unbeatable, positive combination. We aim to do both, because giving our children access to science and technology today allows them their best shot tomorrow.
