We have lived in Dartmouth for the whole of our lives and our family has lived in the Old Bakehouse for more than a hundred years. The building itself is indeed very old. A map of 1619 shows the road in front of the house as Bakehouse Hill. Later it was called Bake Hill. Extensive work has been carried out to expose ceiling beams, stone walls and fireplaces. Old Bakehouse Holiday Accommodation is tucked away in a quiet, residential side street, but is very close to all the attractions of Dartmouth, Devon. We pride ourselves on a personal service.
The Old Bakehouse Holiday Accommodation cottages are in a conservation area of Dartmouth, Devon, a two minute walk from the riverfront, Royal Avenue Gardens or Coronation Park with its tennis courts and children's park. The dinghy park with slipway is only a few minutes walk away. The properties are convenient for Britannia Royal Naval College and the town centre with its shops and restaurants.
