Welcome to the Old Custom House, Bed and Breakfast, Wells-next-the-Sea, United Kingdom. Our guest rooms at the Old Custom House, Bed and Breakfast look out over the creeks and marshes. The tide comes and goes twice a day creating a constantly changing view of this unique environment and its many inhabitants. The Old Custom House was built in 1560 and served as a Custom House until about 1910. We have added quite a few features that weren't there in Elizabethan times but we like to think that we have preserved the character of the building whilst making sure that our guests are able to enjoy a high standard of comfort.

The dining room has a large window overlooking the harbour and creeks and South-facing french windows let in plenty of sunlight.  Breakfast is cooked to order using fresh, local produce. A typical menu includes fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and cereals, a choice of traditional english breakfast, smoked haddock or croissants, followed by locally-baked bread toasted with homemade jams and marmalade. Cafetiere coffee, teas and juices are in constant supply. (Special diets can be catered for)

We can help with local knowledge, bus timetables, bookings for seal trips, taxis etc., there is some off-road parking available.

The rooms are equipped with TV, hairdryer, shaver adaptors and tea & coffee making facilities, there are plenty of books and magazines. We aim to make you feel at home and, of course, you are free to come and go as you please.  Come and enjoy Wells-next-the-Sea.
