Old Ebbitt Grill

Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington D.C., Washington, United States | Restaurant

Welcome to the Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington D.C., United States. The Old Ebbitt Grill is just steps from The White House and museums in downtown Washington. Established in 1856, it was a favorite of Presidents Grant, Cleveland, Harding and Theodore Roosevelt and is still a popular meeting spot for political insiders, journalists, celebrities and theater-goers.
Its Beaux-Arts facade, mahogany and velvet booths and bars set in marble, brass and beveled glass are Washington at its finest, and The Oyster Bar at Old Ebbitt is D.C.'s most famous.
Today it is complemented by the Ebbitt Express, a stylish carryout in the Atrium, popular with downtown workers.
Today the menus are created around these fresh, natural ingredients, using classic American recipes that showcase their flavor and texture. Each Restaurant has its own favorites and specialties. So each Clyde's menu is as original as our Restaurants.
Executive Chef Robert McGowan is at the helm of a Restaurant that feeds more than 2000 people a day. He and his staff of 100 serve food from the early morning until past midnight seven days a week, as well as overseeing the bustling Ebbitt Express carryout, and preparing food for parties and banquets in three different private party rooms.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Old Ebbitt Grill, Washington D.C., United States.
