The property is only four miles from the market town of Cockermouth and twelve miles from Keswick. There are five lakes within easy driving distance - Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite, Crummock Water, Buttermere and Loweswater. Byerstead offers a relaxing haven for visitors to the area. For those people interested in walking, Lorton Vale leads to some of the most magnificent mountains and walks in Britain. Head past Crummock Water towards Newlands pass, Honister pass and Borrowdale valley. From here you have easy access to Scafell Pike, Great Gable and other superb Lakeland fells.
