Welcome to Olde Country Inn, a charming Victorian Inn, originally built circa 1886, and located on beautiful Shelter Island nestled between the North and South Forks of Long Island, New York in the United States. From the Olde Country Inn you can stroll to the beach for a swim and a glimpse of the most spectacular sunsets, or take a short hike to the Historic District of the "Heights" for a bit of shopping.
The Olde Country Inn dates back to the 1880's when its hotel guests were picked up at the ferries by horse and buggy. Its turn-of-the-century charm is still maintained by our family, and our guests are offered that same old fashioned friendly hospitality.
In the early nineties we renovated and updated the entire Olde Country Inn. Old English decor, enhanced by a bit of Victorian charm, graces the Olde Country Inn. The beautiful front porch welcomes you to sit awhile and "watch the world go by." The pavilion in the back garden adds a romantic touch to the warm weather dining.
Our accommodations include guest rooms in the main building, a single room cottage, and several rooms in the carriage house. All rooms have ceiling fans, and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. A full country breakfast is included with the room rate.
In the afternoons and evenings you can relax by the fireplace, have a cocktail in our pub, enjoy the afternoon breezes on the front porch, sun yourself in the garden, or enjoy our classic cuisine. Our highly acclaimed French restaurant headed by Chef Marcel Iattoni from Provençe draws regular patrons from Manhattan to Montauk to sample his sumptuous cuisine. Delicious breakfasts and unforgettable dInners are served here.
