Welcome to Olivers House, Flooring, Prudenville, United States. In 1974, Bill Oliver owned Bill Oliver's Lakefront Lodge and the King's Table Restaurant in Prudenville, Michigan on the beautiful shores of Houghton Lake. During a remodeling project, Bill realized that there was a real need in the area for a retail Flooring business that offered affordable prices and quality products. He traveled to Georgia and shopped the major carpet mills for some products to bring back to Michigan. Thus, the beginning of Olivers House. Carpet orders began to come in and were stored in a warehouse until the construction of a 5,000 square foot store was completed in 1975. Bill and his wife, Dorothy, had three sons who worked in various facets of his businesses and together, they set up the new store and began to offer their products to the consumers in the area. His youngest son, Bill, had just graduated from Houghton Lake High School and was given the opportunity to manage the store for the family. Business was going well and an addition was put on in 1978 to accomodate more products, such as Ridgeway Clocks. In 1980, a major expansion project was in progress in order to make way for a full line of quality home furnishings which included upholstery, bedding, occasional tables, dining room and bedroom offerings. With the final expansion in 1987, Olivers' is the largest home Interiors store in the area with an impressive 15,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse combined.
After many years of purchasing and selling Mohawk Industries floor products, Olivers' was chosen to become a Mohawk Floorscapes dealer in 2000. The store underwent a major interior remodeling for the new millineum to bring a new way for our consumers to shop for Flooring in a brand new Floorscapes showroom. This enabled us to bring new, exclusive products to our customers in various product categories including carpet, laminate, wood, vinyl and ceramic. Our installers all underwent intensive training to become CFI Certified Installers which means that they are truly craftsmen in their trade. In 2003, we became a Flexsteel Gallery, which again changed the interior of the store with new paint, carpet and a great selection of quality Flexsteel furniture. Today, Olivers House still offers the same great quality and affordable prices to consumers all across Michigan. We've delivered our products as far south as Romulas and as far north as Mackinaw Island. Our product line is expansive with something for every taste and style. With over 30 years of experience, our sales staff is knowledgeable and qualified to guide our consumers through the vast offerings of home Interiors.
