Built at the turn of the Century with native New Zealand hardwoods and recently renovated, the Palace Backpackers, on the edge of Nelson is a relaxed and friendly place full of the atmosphere of colonial New Zealand, with magnificent views over the city to the surrounding hills.
In the nineteen-eighties, the house was bought by the Foster family who extensively renovated the building, exposing much of the original Rimu and Matai timbers . It became Dave's Palace after Dave bought the building in 1994 moving his hostel from the former Mount street address after which the name changed to Palace Backpackers.
At Palace Backpackers you will find a Guest Kitchen, Guest Laundry, Guest Lounge, BBQ, CourtesyVehicle, Internet Facilities, Off Street Parking,.
